Darnico, a member of EuroCons Group, has donated a transcutaneous bilirubin meter to the General Hospital in Vršac.
This device will be used to measure bilirubin levels in newborns. Elevated bilirubin levels, known as neonatal jaundice, are a common condition in infants that requires monitoring and, in cases of very high values, treatment.
The transcutaneous bilirubin meter reduces the need for blood sampling to test for hyperbilirubinemia, which means less discomfort for newborns caused by the use of needles. It also enables efficient and effective screening, which can help reduce hospital stays, readmission rates, and overall treatment costs.
The Neonatal Pediatrics Department of the General Hospital in Vršac expressed its gratitude to Darnico for the donation of the transcutaneous bilirubin meter, adding that on the very same day, three newborns were spared from venous blood sampling
